A two-hour deep dive into each of the main season productions of Sarasota Jewish Theatre. Enjoy a continental breakfast while examining the play and the playwright with Artistic Director Carole Kleinberg, and each play’s director.

Meet the actors and learn about the challenges and techniques in bringing the characters to life on the stage. Then meet with the technical team to learn about the complex technical requirements of each play. Participants will receive a comprehensive study guide for each play.

Fridays, February 6, March 6, April 10 at 10:00 a.m.

Act 1
10:00am – 11:00 am
Begin the day with a continental breakfast followed by an in-depth, revealing discussion of the play and playwright led by SJT Artistic Director Carole Kleinberg. Participants will receive a comprehensive study guide prior to class.

Act 2
11:00 am -11:30 am
Attend a stimulating and informative discussion with our production’s creative team as they reveal how SJT’s production is designed and assembled. Understand the decisions and coordination behind the set design, lighting design, costumes, sound effects, music, props and set decoration.

Act 3
11:30 am – 12:00 noon
Meet the actors and the director. Gain insight into their creative process, learn the choices they make as they take the play from the page to the stage. Discussion will include preparation, rehearsals, character choices, inspiration and collaboration.
