Sing In The Season

Kick off the Howard J. Millman Performance Series with Sing in the Season, a joyful celebration of music, theatre, and Jewish culture starring award-winning Broadway actress, musician, and singer-songwriter Lauren Molina. Fresh from her acclaimed performance as Golde in Asolo Repertory Theatre’s celebrated actor-musician production of Fiddler on the Roof, Molina brings her extraordinary artistry to an unforgettable evening tracing the remarkable journey of Jewish musical theatre from Yiddish theatre to Sondheim.

Best known for her Broadway performances as the cello-playing Johanna in John Doyle’s groundbreaking revival of Sweeney Todd opposite Patti LuPone and Michael Cerveris, and for originating the role of Regina in Rock of Ages, Molina has built a career as one of Broadway’s most versatile and captivating performer-musicians. Equally at home in comedy and drama, she is also one-half of the acclaimed musical duo The Skivvies, hailed by The Wall Street Journal as “highly original…smart…sophisticated…ingenious.”

Featuring a delightful collection of songs from Broadway and the theatre tradition, Sing in the Season celebrates the rich legacy of Jewish stories, composers, lyricists, and performers whose artistry has helped shape the American musical. From the traditions of Yiddish theatre to the genius of Stephen Sondheim, this inspiring concert blends unforgettable music, heartfelt storytelling, laughter, and nostalgia into a vibrant tribute to the resilience, humor, and enduring spirit of Jewish artistry on stage. Whether you’re a lifelong theatre lover or simply appreciate great music, Sing in the Season is the perfect way to launch the Howard J. Millman Performance Series.
